Big news for Mitsubishi fans, and exciting times ahead for us here at Heritage Mitsubishi. Mitsubishi Motors North America (MMNA) has confirmed that an all-new, off-road-focused variant of the Outlander SUV will be joining the lineup during the company’s Fiscal Year 2026 (April 1, 2026–March 31, 2027).
This announcement follows closely on the heels of Mitsubishi’s May 7, 2025, news that the brand will also bring an all-new battery-electric vehicle (BEV) to the North American market. Together, these two models highlight the strength of Mitsubishi’s Momentum 2030 business plan, a forward-looking strategy that promises innovation, versatility, and renewed excitement across the lineup.
Building on the success of the Trail Edition Outlander, this new off-road model will take Mitsubishi’s adventurous spirit to the next level. It will feature rugged bodywork, enhanced drive modes, off-road performance upgrades, and unique interior details designed for both comfort and capability. Underneath it all will be the latest evolution of Mitsubishi’s Super All-Wheel Control (S-AWC) system, perfected through years of rally racing heritage and Dakar Rally victories, ensuring families can confidently explore beyond the pavement.
While details such as the name, design, and technical specs are still under wraps, Mitsubishi has confirmed that more information will be released soon. What we do know is that the future lineup is shaping up to be one of the brand’s most dynamic yet, with the 2025 Outlander already on sale, an updated Outlander Plug-in Hybrid on the horizon, and a new mild-hybrid powertrain debuting in the 2026 Outlander.
“Mitsubishi’s Momentum 2030 plan is already gaining momentum,” said Mark Chaffin, MMNA’s president and CEO. “We’ve set ambitious goals, and with these upcoming launches, we’re proving that Mitsubishi’s best days are still ahead.”
Here at Heritage Mitsubishi, we couldn’t agree more. As Mitsubishi continues to innovate with electrified performance, adventurous design, and modern technology, we’re proud to bring that excitement to our drivers across Morrow, Atlanta, Stockbridge, and the surrounding areas.
Stay tuned — the future of Mitsubishi is bold, electrified, and built for adventure.
