Mitsubishi Motors North America (MMNA) unveiled its ambitious “Mitsubishi Motors Momentum 2030” plan in May, outlining a strategic roadmap through fiscal year 2030. The plan, introduced during a national dealer meeting in Nashville, Tennessee, garnered enthusiastic support from dealer partners. Key highlights of the plan include:
- Electrification Strategy: MMNA will focus on electrification with a mix of powertrains including hybrid, plug-in hybrid, and battery electric vehicles.
- Product Expansion: Starting from fiscal year 2026, MMNA plans to introduce one new or completely refreshed vehicle each year, nearly doubling its current product offerings across various segments.
- Dealer Network Growth: MMNA aims to expand its dealer network to cover more sales markets across the U.S. This expansion includes introducing new-design dealerships to enhance the car-buying experience and reduce entry costs for dealer partners.
- Technology and Innovation: MMNA is committed to integrating technology and innovation into its sales, marketing, and customer satisfaction processes, enhancing overall service delivery.
In addition to these forward-looking initiatives, MMNA celebrated the reopening of the Port of Baltimore in June, following logistical challenges caused by the partial collapse of the Francis Scott Key Bridge. The reopening has improved vehicle delivery logistics, benefiting MMNA and its dealer partners.
Furthermore, MMNA announced the promotion of Katherine Knight to the newly created role of Senior Vice President, Chief Legal and Administrative Officer. This appointment aims to strengthen strategic alignment within MMNA under Katherine’s leadership, with her continuing to report directly to Mark Chaffin, President and Chief Executive Officer.
