Mitsubishi Motors North America, Inc. (MMNA) is charging into the second half of 2025 with strong sales and big plans for the future. The brand reported 22,116 vehicle sales in the second quarter alone, pushing year-to-date sales to 53,753 — a 5.1% increase over the first half of 2024 and Mitsubishi’s best start to a year since 2019.

At the heart of this growth is the redesigned 2025 Mitsubishi Outlander, which continues to lead as MMNA’s flagship model. With 7,821 units sold in Q2, the Outlander stands tall as the brand’s top performer. Its modern design, available plug-in hybrid variant, and family-friendly features have made it a strong choice in the midsize SUV market.

Additional standouts for the quarter include:

  • Eclipse Cross – 4,534 sales, a remarkable 80% increase over Q2 2024
  • Outlander Sport – 4,968 sales, up nearly 50% year-over-year
  • Outlander Plug-in Hybrid – Year-to-date sales are up 6.3%, showing continued interest in Mitsubishi’s electrified offerings
  • Mirage – Despite production ending, the fuel-efficient compact continues to move, with 10,719 units sold YTD, up 8.7%

Looking ahead, Mitsubishi is laying the groundwork for an exciting future with Momentum 2030, the brand’s long-term business strategy for North America. A major component of this plan is the launch of a new or significantly refreshed vehicle every year between 2026 and 2030.

Mitsubishi Motors is also celebrating a major industry honor. Kim Ito, Chief Marketing Officer, was named one of Automotive News’ “100 Leading Women in the North American Auto Industry” for 2025. With nearly a decade at MMNA, Ito has spearheaded numerous groundbreaking initiatives, including:

  • The first-ever vehicle launch on Amazon Live (Outlander, 2022)
  • The industry’s first real-time cinematic configurator (ZeroLight, 2023)
  • The ClickShop 2.0 24-hour digital showroom that bridges the online-to-dealership shopping journey

Expanding its physical footprint, Mitsubishi Motors North America has partnered with LaFontaine Automotive Group, the nation’s 30th largest dealer group. The collaboration will bring new Mitsubishi retail locations to Ann Arbor and Lansing, with additional Michigan locations planned by mid-2026. This strategic move aligns with Mitsubishi’s efforts to expand access to its growing product lineup in key U.S. markets.
