Value, quality, and durability have long defined Mitsubishi Motors vehicles. For the 2026 model year, the brand is taking that promise even further. Mitsubishi Motors North America, Inc. (MMNA) has announced major updates across its lineup, highlighted by a refreshed 2026 Outlander Plug-in Hybrid, an all-new mild-hybrid powertrain for the 2026 Outlander, and the continued availability of Trail Edition models that celebrate the brand’s motorsport heritage.
These changes reflect Mitsubishi’s Momentum 2030 business plan, which pledges a new or significantly revised vehicle for North America every year from 2026 through 2030. Pricing and full technical specifications will be revealed closer to launch.
2026 Outlander Plug-in Hybrid
Arriving in Q1 2026, the world’s first plug-in hybrid SUV receives a major mid-cycle update:
- Larger-capacity drive battery for increased all-electric range, improved acceleration, and reduced engine use.
- Upgraded interior with new materials, colors, sound-deadening, heated and cooled front seats, redesigned center console, and wireless charging.
- Standard Yamaha® premium audio and available 12.3-inch infotainment display.
- Exterior refresh featuring a revised grille, new bumper design, smoked taillights, and 20-inch wheels.
- Improved ride and handling thanks to revised suspension tuning.
The updated PHEV continues to feature twin electric motors with Super-All Wheel Control (S-AWC), combining eco-friendly performance with all-weather confidence.
2026 Outlander
Launching in Q4 2025, the 2026 Outlander replaces its 2.5L engine with a 1.5L turbocharged four-cylinder paired to Mitsubishi’s first mild-hybrid system, delivering improved off-the-line torque and overall drivability.
Additional updates include new trims: a value-oriented LE trim, a premium SEL Black Edition, and the return of the performance-inspired Ralliart model. Plus, a carry-over exterior design from the 2025 refresh with enhanced road manners and interior upgrades.
2026 Eclipse Cross
The popular compact crossover carries forward with minimal changes:
- Standard Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ on all trims.
- SEL and SEL Touring models now include “Eclipse Cross” hood badging as standard.
- Motorsport-derived S-AWC all-wheel drive remains standard equipment.
2026 Outlander Sport
Mitsubishi’s most affordable SUV returns unchanged for 2026, continuing to offer standard All-Wheel Control (AWC) for year-round confidence, rear-seat reminder, Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™, and family-friendly LATCH anchors. Plus, an industry-leading warranty and an impressive 97% purchase rate among cross-shop buyers (Ipsos).
Warranty Coverage
Every Mitsubishi comes with a 10-year/100,000-mile powertrain limited warranty, plus a 5-year/60,000-mile limited warranty, 7-year corrosion coverage, 5-year roadside assistance, and a 2-year/30,000-mile maintenance program — delivering peace of mind for the road ahead.
The 2026 Mitsubishi lineup raises the bar in technology, efficiency, and value — whether you’re looking for an eco-conscious plug-in hybrid, an adventure-ready Trail Edition, or a compact SUV built for everyday life.
