Mitsubishi Safety Features.

The safety side of the automotive industry has changed dramatically in the recent past. Although automakers have always worked to make their vehicles safer, the addition of new active and passive features has transformed the way people drive. Mitsubishi is no exception, as this automaker remains committed to safety with high-end features.

Durable Body Construction

Mitsubishi utilizes a signature construction design to enhance the safety of its vehicles. This design is known as RISE, which stands for Reinforced Impact Safety Evolution, and includes reinforced bars in each of the doors. When a vehicle is involved in a collision, the doors tend to be some of the weakest points, causing significant injuries to those seated on the exterior seats. With the RISE design and energy-absorbing materials in the front, rear, and sides of the vehicle, Mitsubishi’s models can help to protect the driver and passengers in the event of a collision.

The strategic reinforcements provide a buffer to the vehicle in a high-impact collision, complementing the side-impact door beams and establishing a secure and stable base. The frame of every vehicle is also made of high-strength steel and includes designated crumple zones as an added measure of protection.

Standard Passive Features

Every Mitsubishi model also includes certain passive safety features as standard. These include anti-lock brakes, air bags mounted throughout the cabin, traction and stability control, and a tire pressure monitoring system. The active stability control feature uses various sensors that monitor the grip of the tires on the road. If a tire begins to slip due to slick or adverse road conditions, the system will react to stabilize the vehicle, complemented by the anti-lock braking system. The purpose of these passive systems is to help you maintain control in all situations.

Available Active Features

The latest Mitsubishi models are also available with innovative active features that can help reduce your risk of a collision. The 2024 Outlander Sport is available with blind spot warning and lane-change assist, which informs you that a vehicle may be hiding in your blind spot. When you engage the turn signal, an audible alert of three beeps will let you know that it’s not safe to change lanes or make a turn. Rear cross-traffic alert warns of the risk of a rear or side collision, flashing warning lights and emitting a buzzing sound when the vehicle is in reverse.

The 2024 Mitsubishi Outlander comes standard with ten standard airbags 6 — including front, driver’s side dashboard, and side-curtain airbags and the 2024 Outlander adds an eleventh driver seat mounted front-centering airbag, giving you extra peace of mind on every drive. The Outlander models include blind spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert, along with adaptive cruise control and rain-sensing wipers. Adaptive cruise control uses radar technology to maintain a safe driving distance, while rain-sensing wipers allow you to focus on the road with a clear view.

When you’re transporting precious cargo, the safety of those in your vehicle is always a top priority. Mitsubishi takes your safety seriously, as well as the safety of those around you on the road, by equipping the vehicles in its lineup with features that will provide ample protection. Test drive one of the latest models at Heritage Mitsubishi-Morrow to experience these features for yourself.
