Mitsubishi Motors North America, Inc. (MMNA) has forged a partnership with Tucker’s House, a middle-Tennessee-based nonprofit organization, by providing them access to a 2023 Mitsubishi Outlander Plug-in Hybrid SUV. This initiative is part of MMNA’s Community Utility Vehicle (CUV) program, which extends vehicle loans to nonprofit organizations, empowering them to make a positive impact within their local communities.

Tucker’s House, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, stands as a unique organization in the region, offering assistance to children and young adults with disabilities and their families. Their focus revolves around enhancing home safety and accessibility through retrofitting solutions. These solutions encompass the installation of ramps, modification of bathrooms and doorways for wheelchair accessibility, wall lifts, replacement of carpets with wheelchair-friendly solid flooring, and various other adaptations. Throughout this process, a therapist oversees adaptive equipment selection, installation, and training.

Graham Honeycutt, Executive Director of Tucker’s House, expressed gratitude for being chosen by Mitsubishi Motors to be part of their Community Utility Vehicle Program, emphasizing the critical role the Mitsubishi Outlander Plug-in Hybrid will play in modifying homes for Tennesseans under 21 with disabilities.

The three-row Mitsubishi Outlander Plug-in Hybrid seamlessly combines SUV capability and convenience with the fuel efficiency and eco-friendly features of an electric vehicle. This collaboration will enable Tucker’s House to enhance the efficiency of their mobilization efforts. The Mitsubishi Outlander Plug-in Hybrid boasts 38 miles of all-electric range, Super All-Wheel Control all-wheel drive for optimal performance in diverse road conditions, and various standard features.

Mark Chaffin, Chief Operating Officer of MMNA, highlighted the significance of the Community Utility Vehicle Program, stating, “This partnership with Tucker’s House is the latest example of our commitment to our neighbors in Middle Tennessee.” The CUV program is an integral part of MMNA’s broader corporate social responsibility initiative, “Small Batch – Big Impact,” emphasizing the cumulative impact of localized efforts. Previous CUV use donations were made to organizations such as Nashville-based Community Resource Center and Charis Health Center, Las Vegas-based Goodie Two Shoes Foundation, and Dallas-based Record the Journey.
