Electrify Expo, renowned as the premier electric vehicle festival in North America, concluded its nationwide tour in Austin, Texas from November 10-12, with Mitsubishi Motors showcasing its acclaimed flagship: the Outlander Plug-in Hybrid SUV, as a featured attraction. Attendees at the Circuit of the Americas not only have the opportunity to view and sit inside the world’s first and best-selling plug-in hybrid SUV, but were also able to join over 1,300 Electrify Expo participants who have already test-driven the Outlander Plug-in Hybrid at events nationwide.
Throughout the year, Electrify Expo has drawn thousands of attendees, creating awareness of environmentally friendly transportation and emphasizing Mitsubishi Motors’ approach to electrification through plug-in hybrids as a timely and effective solution for consumers.
Mitsubishi’s flagship model has earned numerous awards and received praise from both media and customers. It serves as a bridge to the future, offering the right technology at the right time for consumers interested in eco-friendly solutions but not yet ready to transition to a fully Battery Electric Vehicle.
Mark Chaffin, President and CEO of Mitsubishi Motors North America (MMNA), expressed the popularity of the Outlander Plug-in Hybrid, stating, “The Mitsubishi Outlander Plug-in Hybrid has been wildly popular, both on the test track at each Electrify Expo stop across the country this year, and in our dealer partners’ showrooms.” He emphasized that the Outlander Plug-in Hybrid caters to consumers motivated by environmental awareness, offering a blend of clean and quiet electric driving with the range and refueling convenience of gasoline.
The 2023 Outlander Plug-in Hybrid, launched in December 2022, has garnered media acclaim for its interior and exterior styling, driving dynamics, Super All-Wheel Control (S-AWC) all-wheel-drive system, and the seamless integration of electric and gasoline drive systems. As Mitsubishi Motors’ most equipped and connected vehicle sold in the U.S., the seven-passenger flagship model starts at an entry price of $39,845 for the 2023 Outlander Plug-in Hybrid ES. All trim levels provide 38 miles of all-electric range, up to 420 miles of overall range, and SEL and above models are the only mass-market plug-in hybrid EVs with DC fast-charging capability, capable of charging the 20kWh battery pack to 80% capacity in just 38 minutes.
