Yamaha Corporation has officially announced its partnership with Mitsubishi Motors North America, Inc. (MMNA) in conjunction with the upcoming launch of the refreshed 2025 Mitsubishi Outlander. This collaboration brings premium audio to the vehicle, with a custom audio system developed by Yamaha’s renowned sound experts.
The 2025 Outlander, set to debut in February 2025, showcases significant upgrades inside and out, with the audio system standing out as a key enhancement. Yamaha has worked closely with Mitsubishi Motors’ engineering team to create two bespoke in-car sound systems for the flagship Outlander, marking Yamaha’s first custom audio system for a North American vehicle. This partnership underscores the innovative nature of the collaboration, combining Yamaha’s expertise in sound with Mitsubishi’s engineering excellence.
This isn’t the first time Yamaha and Mitsubishi Motors have worked together. The audio systems were first introduced in the 2024 Mitsubishi Outlander in Japan and will be featured globally in all 2025 Outlander models. Additionally, Yamaha’s audio systems were integrated into the Mitsubishi XFORCE, which launched in 2023 for the ASEAN region.
“We aim to deliver excitement through sound, creating an experience that resonates with the driver and brings them closer to the artists,” says Tomokazu Hikida, Yamaha’s sound specialist. “By carefully crafting the bass, midrange, and treble, we innovate to create a moment that stirs the heart within the cabin.”
MMNA will share further details about the 2025 Outlander, including updates on features and specifications, during its official North American debut in mid-February 2025. As the partnership between Yamaha and Mitsubishi Motors continues, Yamaha looks forward to delivering high-quality audio products that enhance the driving experience.
