What’s New?

This year, there’s a new plug-in hybrid option for drivers concerned about their emissions. There’s also a decked-out 40th Anniversary trim available that features design elements like a bronze roof and a chrome emblem on the hood.

Trim Levels

Starting off the lineup is the ES, which provides features like rear parking sensors and standard Android Auto. Next is the SE, which has some additional features like larger 20-inch wheels. There’s also the Black Edition which provides unique black styling to help you stand out. The SEL has a larger digital driver display and automatic 3-zone climate control, while the Ralliart provides an even sportier style. For a truly one-of-a-kind model, don’t forget to check out the 40th Anniversary model.

The SE, SEL, SEL Touring, SEL Premium, and 40th Anniversary models are all available with the PHEV powertrain.

Engine

The base engine available for the Outlander is a 2.5-liter inline four-cylinder engine that will get you 181 horsepower. This engine is matched with a continuously variable automatic transmission. Front-wheel drive is the standard, but all-wheel drive is also an option.

The hybrid engine is a 2.4-liter four-cylinder option that’s matched with two electric motors. Together, this setup generates 248 horsepower. There are also six different drive modes available for the Outlander, ranging from gravel to eco.

Interior and Technology

The interior of the Outlander features an overall sleek design. There’s an available 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster that’s easy to see and read as well as an available head-up display so you never have to take your eyes off the road.

As for storage, there are 11.7 cubic feet of space behind the third row of seats and 33.5 cubic feet with the rear row folded down. Folding down both the third and second rows of seats will provide you with 79.7 cubic feet of space.
