Mitsubishi Motors North America, Inc. (MMNA) has revealed its ambitious 10-year business strategy, “Mitsubishi Motors Momentum 2030”. The plan outlines comprehensive initiatives spanning business expansion, product innovation, and retail transformation, aimed at solidifying Mitsubishi’s position in the North American market.

Mark Chaffin, MMNA President and CEO, emphasized the pivotal nature of this strategic roadmap, stating, “Mitsubishi Motors is charting a bold and clear path for sustained success in the United States. Momentum 2030 builds upon our recent achievements, such as establishing our new headquarters in Tennessee, launching successful new vehicles, and enhancing customer satisfaction.”

Four Key Pillars of Momentum 2030

  1. Path to Electrification: MMNA will accelerate its move towards vehicle electrification, introducing advanced-technology internal combustion engines, hybrids, plug-in hybrids, and battery electrics into its lineup by fiscal-year 2030.
  2. Product Line-Up Expansion: The plan includes the introduction of two all-new vehicles in previously unexplored segments and a new or refreshed vehicle annually from fiscal-year 2026 onwards. This expansion aims to nearly double MMNA’s current vehicle lineup in the U.S. by 2030.
  3. Modernized Retail Sales Model: Mitsubishi will modernize its sales and service approach, incorporating more technology into the customer experience to cater to a younger, tech-savvy demographic. New retail concepts will be introduced to enhance accessibility and customer engagement.
  4. Network Expansion and Sales Growth: MMNA plans to expand its retail footprint into new U.S. markets to increase accessibility and boost sales figures significantly over the next decade. This expansion will be supported by innovative retail concepts designed to redefine customer interactions.

Commitment to North America

In addition to product and retail advancements, Momentum 2030 underscores Mitsubishi Motors’ commitment to increasing investments in people and production across North America. Leveraging Alliance assets, the company aims to strengthen local production capabilities, reinforcing its role as an industry leader in innovation and sustainability.

Mark Chaffin concluded the announcement with a confident outlook, stating, “The next 10 years will be transformative for Mitsubishi Motors in North America. Momentum 2030 will drive increased sales, expand our vehicle offerings, and establish Mitsubishi as a leader in automotive innovation. This is our time, Team Mitsubishi.”

As Mitsubishi Motors embarks on this ambitious journey, the company remains dedicated to delivering exceptional vehicles and experiences that resonate with customers across the continent.
