Mitsubishi Motors North America, Inc. (MMNA) maintained its strong performance throughout the year and accelerated into 2024, announcing fourth-quarter 2023 sales of 19,604 and full-year sales of 87,340. Despite ongoing challenges in vehicle availability throughout the year, MMNA concluded 2023 with a 1.8% increase over 2022. This sales achievement follows a year where MMNA and its dealer partners secured the top position among mass-market brands in the annual JD Power Customer Service Index (CSI) survey. Additionally, they earned top honors in Reputation’s Customer Experience rankings as part of their 2023 Automotive Report.

The brand’s flagship models, Outlander and Outlander Plug-in Hybrid, continued to lead annual sales. Gasoline Outlander sales reached 42,501, marking a 3.8% annual increase and achieving an all-time sales record – the best performance since the nameplate’s launch in 2002. The all-new Outlander Plug-in Hybrid, just one year since its launch, experienced robust sales of 6,681, representing an impressive 240.7% increase over the previous year. This outstanding performance sets a new record for the nameplate’s full-year sales since its introduction in 2017.

In the third quarter of 2023, Mirage and Mirage G4 quarterly sales collectively rose by 26.9%, underscoring the sustained consumer interest in the subcompact hatch and sedan. December’s Mirage sales performance, compared to the same period in 2022, was particularly notable, driven by an increase in vehicle availability that progressively expanded throughout the quarter.
